As a contribution to the learning and development of practitioners
working with children in care, the National Children's Bureau have
been granted funding by the Department for Children, Schools and
Families to run regional based events for practitioners working
with looked after children over the next three years.

The annual NCERCC conference is the pivotal event of the year for
the residential child care sector. Speakers will offer a
significant contribution to the development of residential child
care relevant for practitioners, policy makers, regulators and
commissioners.

You're Welcome
- young people, health services and the role of the voluntary
sector
NCB is holding half-day events around the country in partnership
with the regional government offices , designed specifically for
voluntary and community sector organisations. These events will
cover the policy background to You're Welcome, the implications of
the initiative to the third sector, and how third sector
organisations can get involved. Government Office leads for
You're Welcome will be at each event, as well as representatives
from statutory and voluntary organisations who have been involved
in it.

Promoting the
health and well-being of looked after children: Implementing the
new guidance locally
Theme: Well being
A series of regional
conferences to support delegates in implementing the new statutory
and practice guidance on promoting the health and well-being of
looked after children. These conferences, organised by NCB on
behalf of DCSF and DH, will give delegates an overview of the
guidance, a chance to learn about its implications for their work
and discuss their practical next steps to implementation, and
examples of effective practice. These events are essential for
those with strategic, commissioning and operational responsibility
for looked after children’s health and well-being.
