Voluntary sector support
NCB’s voluntary sector support
programme is designed to help build the capacity of voluntary and
community sector organisations involved in the design and delivery
of children and young people’s services.
As a membership and infrastructure support
agency, partnership work is at the heart of everything we do. We
host the many single-issue or single client groups, networks, fora,
councils and partnership programmes operating under our charitable
status and in addition we provide a wide range of services and
support to the sector as a whole. This is important to NCB as it
enables us to truly claim that we are advancing the well-being of
all children and young people across every aspect of their
lives.
As part of our shared services scheme, we
provide essential information on policy, research and best
practice, as well as strategic support, business advice and help
with the day-to-day running of an organisation.
We receive strategic funding from the DCSF’s
children and young people fund, and the DH’s third sector
investment fund, designed to specifically support and strengthen
the engagement of the voluntary and community sector in the
relevant policy agendas. Following on from our hosting of the now
completed VCS Engage programme and other projects, we offer a range
of training, resources and other learning of value to the
sector.
